Being a vital part of the Dartford Community, it was decided at our December meeting that we should provide bottled drinking water at Darent Valley Hospital’s Accident and Emergency waiting area. Although the hospital do have vending machines available, as a club we decided it would be good to offer bottled water free of charge to those who are waiting. Given the choice, no one wants to be in hospital at anytime of the year, although in such an environment our support is limited, we thought we would try and help where we can. 

Lion Ellenor Palmer, collected over 300 bottles of water and then personally delivered them direct to the hospital’s A & E waiting area.

Since the club was formed in 1969, each year we aim to assist as many local residents and community groups as possible, this is done by residents or groups reaching out to us requesting support. This support request is then looked at in detail at our monthly business meetings.  We have helped/supported thousands of individuals with ten’s of thousands of pounds of support over the years – this is just one part of how we support our local community.
