Our clubs Vice President, Lion Eleanor set off earlier this week for her 2nd trip to support Ukraine. We are on our way for the second time to Zelzate, Belgium to Andy de Schipper who on the 1st February is driving to Kharkiv and Odessa alongside 2 x 500kva generators organised by Lions District 112c. We decided the HGVs have plenty of room and should be filled with items for the Ukrainian people at this awful time of war.

Thanks to the amount given by Dartford Lions Club, so many donations from the public and the phenomenal Ukraine Support Group in Tunbridge Wells we are taking over 5000 nappies, 12000 tablets of medication and 4000 items.

Dartford President, Lion Avtar Sandhu MBE said ” Lion Eleanor was initially going to do this on her own, when we found out we thought it only correct to get behind her on this humanitarian relief project. As always, the residents of Dartford have stepped up in donating items to help the people of Ukraine. Lion Eleanor is traveling out with Aaron Kelly.

Aaron will be inducted as another of our new members at our next meeting, this shows the commitment of our members to support others whilst still ensuring the club grows.”
